Integrated Batteries

SEI provides backup power for it's line of critical power systems through an internal battery pack contained within the UPS chassis that contains four 12 volt, 9 Amp-hour sealed lead acid batteries connected in series to provide a nominal 48Vdc. The batteries are continuously float charged by the system rectifiers. Batteries are hot swappable and are protected by a panel-mounted fuse.

A microprocessor-based controller constantly monitors battery charge status and automatically performs a periodic battery test to guarantee the holdover capability of the pack. Additional features include a Manual Battery Test Switch and LED indicators for Battery Charge Status and the Battery Test Status located on the unit. With the Power Management Package (SNMP) the batteries can be monitored online as to estimate remaining battery capacity based on load.

BP-8U Battery Pack

The BP-8U is an external battery pack, designed for use with SEI power systems. The BP-8U contains four 12 volt, 9 Amp-hour sealed lead acid batteries connected in series to provide a nominal 48 V dc. The internal battery pack is replaceable. A panel-mounted fuse protects the output.

The BP-8U’s microprocessor-based controller constantly monitors battery charge status and automatically performs a periodic battery test to guarantee the holdover capability of the pack. Additional features include a Manual Battery Test Switch and LED indicators for Battery Charge Status and the Battery Test Status.

The BP-8U can add additional backup time or replace dead internal batteries. Up to two BP-8Us can be connected in parallel for a total capacity of 24 amp hours. It is mountable on a wall or on 19" racks. A ‘Slimline’ version of the Battery Pack, two ‘U’ in height, with 5 amp-hour capacity for rack mount is also available.

Extended Capacity Backup Batteries

For applications requiring extended backup time, SEI offers a series of high capacity 48 volt battery systems that consist of a cabinet and four telecom quality stationary batteries. Capacities range from 25 to 90 Amp hours. Output power is protected by a 15 amp fuse. The cabinet is mounted on four lockable casters for ease of movement and secure placement.
