The SEI DC-UPS Series provides 48 Vdc (nominal) power with integrated battery backup. Three different models offer a range
of output current:
- SEI-250 - 4.5 Amps max.
- SEI-500 - 9.0 Amps max.
- SEI-750 - 13.5 Amps max.
Three output distribution modules are available. The 'M' module contains two individually fused 8-pin Molex® Minifit™
connectors. The 'A' module contains two individually fused 2-pin AMP® Mat-N-Lok™ connectors. The 'P' module features
two individually fused binding posts. The 250 houses one output distribution module. The 500 and 750 accommodates three output distribution modules. Customer-specified output modules are available.
During normal operation, the telecommunication grade (no internal fans) rectifier/charger provides power to the load while maintaining the batteries in a fully charged state.
During extended periods of utility outage, the batteries are protected from over-discharge by the built-in low voltage disconnect circuit. An automatic test
circuit monitors battery performance and provides an alarm indication when the internal battery pack needs to be replaced. Remote monitoring for AC power and
battery is provided by a contact closure that can be interfaced to a remote alarm unit.
The 500 and 750 are configured with rectifiers operating in parallel, so that the power unit will continue to provide power in the event of a single rectifier failure, and by de-rating can provide N+1 redundancy.
The integrated 8 AHr battery will provide from 20 to 150 minutes of backup time, depending on load. Backup Battery capacity can be increased by adding up to two BP-8U external battery packs or for extended battery backup (8 hours or
more), a high capacity battery cabinet can be added. All units have field replaceable battery packs, which can be replaced without shutting down the
power unit.
All SEI DC-UPS units are mountable either on a wall or on 19" racks
